‘Britain’s music scene offers numerous dynamic small- sized groups, but The Hermes Experiment so spellbinding, so imaginative, continue to stand alone’ (The Times)
The “boldly entertaining” (Scotsman) Hermes Experiment is one of the UK’s leading young contemporary music ensembles. Capitalising on their deliberately idiosyncratic combination of instruments, The Hermes Experiment have commissioned over 60 composers at various stages of their careers, as well as creating their own innovative arrangements which continuously captivate audiences. For their Irish début, in the stunning setting of Dublin Castle’s Chapel Royal, these dynamic artists proudly present an array of works by women composers, in addition to new compositions written for them by the trailblazing cellist/composer Abel Selaocoe and “Rising Star” (BBC Music Magazine), Lisa Robertson.
Presented in partnership with the Office of Public Works and in association with Dublin Castle

The Chapel Royal at Dublin Castle is a stunning example of 19th Century Gothic Revival Architecture. It became known as the Chapel Royal after King George IV attended service on 2 September 1821. Located in the Lower Castle Yard, its galleries and stained glass windows are ornamented with coats of arms representing many of Ireland’s Viceroys. The Chapel Royal’s interiors have long been celebrated as an architectural triumph in Dublin.
